Austrian Airlines Group unites virtually the entire Austrian airline market in one group via the three airlines Austrian Airlines (Austrian), Lauda Air, and Tyrolean Airways (Austrian arrows). Via its Vienna hub, Austrian Airlines acts as turntable between East and West, with a focus on Central and Eastern Europe and the Near East. Tyrolean Airways, which is operated as production platform, is well established under the “Austrian arrows” consumer brand and optimally complements the range via an efficient network of airline destinations in closer proximity. The task of Lauda Air is succinctly summarised in the slogan “The Austrian way to holidays”: taking passengers to their holiday destinations “the Austrian way”. In 2010, Austrian Airlines transported 10.9 million passengers, and revenue passenger kilometres rose to 17.5 billion. On September 3, 2009, Austrian Airlines signed an agreement with its new partner Lufthansa and opened a new chapter as member of the Lufthansa Group.
