Together with approximately 3,000 contractual partners, OÖGKK (Upper Austria Regional Health Insurance Fund) protects roughly three quarters of the population of Upper Austria against the risk of illness. Second only to WGKK in terms of size, OÖGKK covers more than 847,000 individuals. In 2009, the total expenses amounted to approximately EUR1.76billion. In order to close gaps in the medical care of the population, OÖGKK operates its own medical facilities at 17 different locations in the province of Upper Austria.
