SOS Children's Villages

SOS Children's Villages (SOS Kinderdorf) is a private, non-denominational, politically independent not-for-profit enterprise operating worldwide and benefiting socially disadvantaged and orphaned children. It was founded in 1949 by Hermann Gmeiner in Innsbruck, Austria and the concept was first implemented with the construction of the first SOS children's village in Imst (Tyrol). SOS-Kinderdorf in Austria offers a wide range of assistance servies. In 2014, over 7,100 children, teenagers and adults were attended to sustainably and successfully.
